Bishop's Annual Appeal 2024
Each July, a special collection is held throughout the diocese to support a variety of ministries and projects. The funds are disbursed at the bishop’s discretion to areas of need or opportunity. This collection provides the bishop the opportunity to provide additional support in a timely manner.
Examples of ministries and initiatives receiving support from this appeal include: youth and families, vocations, campus ministry, refugee services, the World Youth Day 2023 pilgrimage, and the cathedral’s restoration project.
MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT: Refugee Services
This year, a portion of the funds received will go to support our Refugee Resettlement Program. As a Sponsorship Agreement Holder, the Diocese of Peterborough works with the federal government and local individuals, organizations and parishes to settle families in our region. Our Refugee Resettlement Program was a lifeline for Aida, a young woman forced to flee her war-torn homeland with her family. You can read read Aida's story below to discover how your support of the Bishop’s Appeal can help to give a happy ending to a harrowing story.
